Something to keep myself off of sites.

Hi first time posting here. I feel kinda wierd asking this.

I want to keep myself off of certain websites. I know I can use the hosts file to block websites but I can just simply go back to it and take any site off the hosts file if I wanted to go to the website. Is there a program I can use to password protect the hosts file. I tried Valise Light (I don't know if that is a very good program anyway.) but when I used that to protect the file, It quit blocking the certain websites. So, I had to leave the file unprotected for it to keep blocking sites. Any ideas. btw I use Firefox on XP home. I would even appreciate any recomendations for other ways to block sites for myself.

If anybody has any suggestions I would really appreciate them. Thanks!

i use an accountability partner and x3watch to keep myself pure regarding pornography if that's what you're speaking about. Its not perfect, but nothing is.

Hey pkananen, thanks for posting and for the program however I do not think that is quite what I am looking for. Thanks anyway. I do not want a content blocker. My parents already have one of those with our network but for some reason I seem to have very good luck when it comes to accidently finding loopholes in it. I just want something that will only block whatever website that I tell it to and for it to be password protected. Thanks anyway though.

Thanks MercenaryForHire for the software recomendation but I have already tried that and it always seems to quit working right when you need it. Maybe you could tell me how to configure it so it doesn't do that?
