EDIT: I just noticed another thread about this very same problem - sorry, didn't do my homework first.

Hi,

I've been testing out overclocking on my new system for the past few days:

Asus A8V Deluxe Rev2
Athlon 64 3000+ 90nm
2x512MB OCZ EL Platinum Edition Rev2
OCZ PowerStream 520W

The processor overclocked fairly well, hitting a stable 2.5GHz. I've been fighting to try to get my RAM to OC at all, though. For a while, it would hardly budge 10MHz past 200 - this, of course, being RAM that by all accounts should hit over 300. Just today, I decided to try flashing my BIOS to the newer 1008.002 beta version. This didn't seem to have any effect, so I finally tried disabling my SATA and RAID controllers (which I wasn't using anyway) through the BIOS, and had just started to have some success with my RAM, when disaster struck. I'd set 280x9 with memory at 1:1, and rebooted to see if it would work - I then saw a message saying "Bad BIOS checksum", or something to that effect, and watched as the BIOS was apparently restored from CD (I just happened to have the Asus CD-ROM in my drive at the time). When restoration was complete, I saw a message telling me to reboot the system for the restored BIOS to take effect - so I did, and then... nothing. To my horror, the system now refuses to display anything at all to the screen when powered up - no initial video card details, nothing. I've tried resetting CMOS several times, but no dice. At this point, I really don't know what to do. Is the board simply fried? Is there nothing I can do? Should I RMA it? If the BIOS is really still corrupt, how can it be repaired if the system won't display anything to the screen?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
