Quick system specs
MSI K8N NEO2 platinum using modded bios 1.36 but I have the problem with the offical 1.4
FX-55 @ 1.45-1.55V
Corsair 1GB 3200XLPT @ 3-3-3-8
I'v been having problems running at 11x270+, so Iv started to try to find out if its my ram or the cpu...
Anyways, right now Im running 10x270 @ 1.45vcore. MEM timings are at 3-3-3-8 using 2.65V
When I run prime95's torture test and pick either In-place large FFT or Blend I start to hear a very low high pitch sound as soon as the test starts.
I can't tell if its coming from the cpu, ram, or the motherboard. At the moment I believe its the ram, there are times during the test that it almost sounds like a HD seeking but no where near as loud as a real HD.
Iv also noticed the sound when I try to load/access a program after running a memory sucking program such as a game. Or, I run prime95 for a few mins and then bring restore mozilla, I can hear this sound as mozilla gets loaded back into memory.
If it is my ram I take it this is not normal? Is there something I can try to single out where the noise is coming from?
