Im suddenly getting this unusually low score of 8500.

I had 77.77 installed and when I went to the NVCL, I got an error. I ran 3D03 got about 9500 at 400/1100...Went back to 66.66 and now im getting 8500. AA AF and everything is off. What can be wrong? I was getting 13500+ some time back on the same config..

Rest of my rig is:

Winchester 3200 @ 2600MHZ
2 GIG Kingston V RAM @ 212MHZ
Epox 9Nd3AJ NForce 3 Ultra
480W Antec True Blue
200GB IDE
120GBE IDE

I wont be able to format becuase this is the only PC on the network that has the password to my dial up conenction :( ...And I can't remember what it was. Anyways of recovering it so I can format?

Thats my problem I think

hmm odd

try using driver cleaner in safemode or something, that should get all traces of the forceware out...then install again. what are the cards clock speeds? (though i cant see driver swapping making them get bumped down)

whats NVCL?

Clock speeds are 350/1GHZ
NVCL is Nvidia's control pannel. with the 77.77, I went to change my settings for AA and AF, and it was all wrong. There were just one slide without any numbers for the AA and AF. And you would slide as much as or as little as you wan't.

I will try driver cleaner. But for now I can't restart, Im the internet host :(

DAMN!! I think I know my problem now.

When I go to Windows Task manager, I get a constant CPU usage of 80-95% ...And when I goto processes detail, System Idle process is 88% .. Can this be some virus or trojan? OR worm???

Now how do I check? If I format, I will lose 15$ worth of internet hours :( ..I can remember the password of my prepaid internet card :( :( :( :( :(

System idle process is supposed to be there. It doesn't impact performance. It was always there, maybe you didnt notice it.

If you look closely, the system Idle process use less memory...I would concern to other programs that takes up alot of processing power and memory.

Usually, system idle process isnt reported as used cycles.

I had the same problem, it was a worm in my /WINDOWS32/ folder. When I tried to delete the files it borked my whole computer and I had to do a fresh XP install. Now everything is cool and I don't use LIMEWIRE anymore (I think thats where my worm came from)

I noticed it in a similar way as you - I noticed my games started running like crap and when I checked my CPU usage I had like 99% at all times.

Sounds alot like your problem. Just call your internet company and get a new password or something and then do fresh XP install.

After that check the software forums and read up on the stickied virus/malware removal post. I haven't had it happen again since I started following that guide.
