something other than forte

Forte sucks up system resources on my lappy. Is there another java compiler someone might recomend to run on my laptop?

JEdit is nice. its an editor and you can dload the plugin for a compiler. if you get the right plugins, itll clean up your code and everything.

If you don't need graphics, try Emacs + JDEE.

I've also heard some good things about IBM's open-source Eclipse.
