Something like Kprobe for NEC drives ?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a tool that works with the NEC drives that lets me see the PI and PIF faults on a disc (C1/C2 for CD's) because it is quite handy to use when deciding what media to buy in 100+ disc quantities.
