Something is wrong with my cpu

Hello. This is my first post.

So i think something is wrong with my cpu. I have a i7 3770k and when i use IntelBurnTest, it report low gflops: something like 49 Gflops. When i use prime95, i can see in the task manager that cpu is at 100 % but the vcore of the cpu is quite low and the temps too. Same thing with OCCT.

If i overclock the cpu, it's like i done nothing. the vcore is low for ie. 4.3 ghz.
I tried positive offset with LLC at Extreme and it done nothing. The vcore is way too low. I tried manual voltage: the temps goes up but i still have low IBT gflops. I deactivate C1 C3 C6: still the same. I don't know what to do. Please help me! I hope i've been clear enough,English is not my native language.

It would be interesting to know more details about your computer system.
Especially which motherboard and cpu cooling solution, you are using.

So my motherboard is Asus p8z77-v lk an my cooler is Noctua NH-D14
PSU: Bequiet straight power L8 580w
GPU: Evga geforce 770

I forgot to to tell you this. Before i had a 2500k And at the beginning it worked great( IBT at 120 Gflops). But one day it started to act the same way than the 3770k that i bought a week ago.

Shut off the ht or set it up to use every other core.
Keep a eye on the temp and the multiplier while running ibt.

Make sure you haven't changed a setting. check high performance

Try check your BIOS to see if you didnt accidently set some current/wattage or whatever option to too low.

Somebody in the forms had the energy saver on in the bios for weeks before they noticed it.

Thanks for the replies.
I checked the bios carefully and i didn't notice anything (EPU is disabled). Also I did a clear cmos (by the jumper or by pulling the battery off) several times

Gigaflops will be low if running win7 without sp1. It brought avx support.

I've upgraded, downgraded and it didn't work. I updated the bios to the latest.

I assume you tried reset the BIOS as well?

Try run CPU-Z while you run it. And see if it changes frequency. And use realtemp to check your temperature.

How low are the temps and voltages exactly? Download and install Argus monitor, Not only does it provide accurate temps but also shows you exactly how fast each core is running at any time and how much turbo is applied.

Core 0 : 55°C
core 1 : 60°C
core 2 : 60°C
core 3 : 62°C

Take in count that it 's 35 °C in the room. I've read that the ivy bridge is a very hot chip.

The voltage is 0.968 v

The voltage looks fine to me, I was surprised how low mine was considering the overclock. I'd also say that not all voltage readers are entirely accurate. When I enabled LLC on mine, CPUz reported completely different voltages from what was set in the Bios as well as what was reported by MSI's software, but I was able to use lower voltages than if it was disabled.

Also worth noting, Asus have done a lot recently to get the most out of their boards and CPU's with their software. One of my teckie friends was pleasantly surprised when he tried it and found he didn't have to raise the voltage to the max to find out what kind of overclock he could get. The software did it for him and it turned out the voltage was much lower than expected.

Also are those temps at load or idle?

The only way to see if the overclock is working is to benchmark it before and after and see how much of an improvement it makes.

I don't think you have much to worry about, what kind of cooling do you have?

At this point I'd try benchmarking various things before and after to see what difference the overclock makes, You should be able to check in Argus monitor to see if it's clocking up as high as it should.

With IBT

cpu at stock : ~46 gflops
cpu at 4.3 ghz : ~53 gflops

And the cpu is clocking up as high as it should.

Does normally the cpu hit a vcore of ~1.15 ~1.2 volt at 4.3 ghz ? Because it doesn't (something like 0.968 to 1.0).
