Something is wrong with my computer (Mainly GPU CFX)

Dear all, I apologize for asking you to help me troubleshoot my computer, but I am currently very frustrated. I am no stranger to OCing and hardware; in fact I am pretty active for at least 3 years now. However, I encountered a problem that I cannot solved by myself.

Problem: I cannot crossfire anymore.

I have 2 6970 on cfx through ccc. Last month in the overdrive tab, the second 6970 card start to not function. Example, I set both GPU's fan speed at 60%, after a few minute my second GPU sudden goes back to stock fan speed. When I go to CCC->Overdrive->2nd GPU, everything is at 0%, I am unable to check anything. When I look at my open case computer the GPU is running.

What I have done (and didn't work apparently.)
1) uninstall and re-install several versions of CCC -> failed
2) test my PCIE slot to see whether is it my motherboard's fault. Nope Mobo is fine and the PCIE slot is functioning -> failed
3) Ok, so maybe is just fan speed having problem. Run a game, go to GPU-Z and see if my second GPU is functioning. Results, 2nd GPU is functioning, the clockspeed, the fan speed and etc... is being displayed. HOWEVER, the GPU load is always at 0% no matter how I stretch it. -> Failed
4) Use a different crossfire bridge. Same results -> Failed
5) Switch the GPUs. Same results ->failed
So at this point, I am pretty sure it's the software issue. The 2nd GPU seem to be functioning, but it is unable to be controlled through CCC after roughly 2 minutes.

6) So I downloaded RadeonPro. I used radeonpro to adjust both GPU's fan speed to 60%. It worked, the second GPU's fan speed didn't return to idle or become uncontrollable like in CCC. HOWEVER, when I use radeonpro to run a game and use GPU-Z to see whether it is using the second GPU. The load is still zero.

The only thing I didn't do, or I don't know how to do is to "enable" crossfire in readonpro. I searched every tab and I can't find it. In the overdrive radeonpro did read 2 gpu though. I am assuming its doing CFX automatically.

My troubleshooting ends here as I cannot come up with any hypothesis of any error. So please help me.

Your time and help will greatly be appreciated.

Can you run a benchmark program that is compatible with crossfire?

Do a first series of runs with only a single card.

Then install the 2nd card and so a second series of runs.

This way, you get objective hard data showing performance, and you just ignore whatever the utilities are saying. See if your performance increases with the 2nd card installed.

Two things -

1. Make sure you have the Catalyst Application Profiles installed. They're on the same page as your drivers. Be aware that not all games or benchmarks will support Crossfire, and in those that don't, your 2nd card will be idle.

2. Crossfire only works in fullscreen mode. If you're running windowed, your second card will be idle.
