My wife moved out here for me 2 years ago, and absolutely hates AZ. (And she makes some good points.) I've been here 10 years, and can't think of anything neat to show her. We've done the obvious (Sedona, Grand Canyon, etc.), but other than nature or scenery, what is neat about Phoenix? There's not an exciting downtown to go to, like Chicago or New York. There's no attractions. No amusement parks. No history. I think we're moving soon. :)

What other cities would you two consider?

There's always floating down the "Salt" and the "Verde"(SP)

That was the BIG thing to do back in the Mid 70's when I used to visit there.

Her family lives near Pittsburgh, and my extended family is all in Indianapolis (Go Colts!). I would like to live in Indy. It's a 6 hour drive to PA, and near Chicago and St. Louis. She just wants anything near the east coast. Driving distance to PA. We both REALLY miss the seasons, and would like to live somewhere with fall foliage, chilly Octobers, snow for Christmas, etc.

To answer someone else's question, yes it snows in AZ. Not in Phoenix (although I heard it did about 20 years ago), but Flagstaff up north gets TONS of snow. It's a high elevation, and is more like what you think of CO than the desert in AZ. Lots of ski resorts in northern AZ. I think Flagstaff is getting down to the 30's now, and we want to visit soon.

yes its beautiful up here in Flagstaff right now apart from the smoke. The leaves are beginning to change. I haven't been up on the moutnain yet but it is expecting some snow soon (its very cloudy and cold). I imagine the aspens are yellow at least since the trees around campus are dropping like crazy. Its getting down to he upper 30's at night right now...my damn roomate already has the furnace turned on in the mornings :(
I grew up in Tucson and flagstaff is like a whole nother state in AZ...no cactus...no 100+ days...its nice. There is snow all over AZ...every once in a while even in phoneix on those rare winter days when its down to like 20 degrees there and conditions are perfect. It doesn't stay long ever but it does come down occationally :p
