We might be visiting AZ soon for a few days.

Any reasonably priced hotels you'd recommend in Phoenix, Tempe or Scottsdale?

I live in the Tucson area so I can't really help but I would check some B&B places actually. There are some really nice B&B here in Tucson. Not more expensive than a good hotel ($100+).

My dad runs a beat down Motel 8. I'm sure he'd let you stay for a "favor", if you know what I mean. ;) ;)

I live in Tucson too!! What's up with the rains here anyway?? Looks like it started last night. It was raining yesterday evening in Sierra Vista too... Weird weather for this time or year. If fact, this has been a pretty rainy year overall.

I'm ready for some overcast/rain/cooler weather. I wore a sweatshirt today for the first time this year (have to support my Colts!), even though the high will be high-80's today. This is my 10th year in AZ, and each year is better than the next. (Line from "Something About Mary"...think about it)

If you do get down to Tucson I recommend you see:

Pima Air and Space Museum
Titan Missile Silo (Green Valley 20mi south of Tucson)
Desert Museum

We may go to Flagstaff this weekend. Are the leaves changing yet?

My wife moved out here for me 2 years ago, and absolutely hates AZ. (And she makes some good points.) I've been here 10 years, and can't think of anything neat to show her. We've done the obvious (Sedona, Grand Canyon, etc.), but other than nature or scenery, what is neat about Phoenix? There's not an exciting downtown to go to, like Chicago or New York. There's no attractions. No amusement parks. No history. I think we're moving soon. :)

What are you talking about?
There is a crapload of things to do in southern AZ.

What--you people in Arizona don't need water? You mean you get enough from stealing other peoples' water from rivers?

Care to share? And no nature stuff (hiking, camping, rock climbing, etc.). We do that all the time, and can do that back east too. What's fun about Arizona. Oh, and we've done the Biosphere....not too cool.

Took my son to the Penske auto museum(off of N. Scottsdale Rd and 101). Cool if you like auto stuff and it's free.

Work had to intrude.

Just a few to get you started:

Pima Air and Space Museum
Titan Missile Silo tour (Green Valley 20mi south of Tucson)
Desert Museum
Davis Monthan AFB (aircraft boneyard tour)
Bisbee, AZ (arts, antiques, be sure to take to Copper Queen mine tour)
Tubac, AZ (lots of arts and crafts stuff)
Tombstone, AZ (the obvious)
Kartchner Caverns State Park (really cool)
