Something is using system resource but WHAT

I just freshly formated and when I ctrl +alt+del it is showing the CPU usage is at a constant 80% when nothing is running. It shows that 100% of the time when the computer is idling with no programs running. When I do start to run other software, it is so slow. It can't be any spyware because this computer was just formated. I checked the list of running programs and everything seems normal. Argh what is going on?!

It could be spyware, a virus, or just about anything.

The time it takes to download updates is a perfect time to get infected with one of the many worms out there.
