I own a A7V133 ASUS board and I seem to be having a slight problem with the VIA chipset what I belive is the northbridge chip with a factory heatsink/fan isn't properly cooled and it's running hotter the my 1.2Ghz athlon :( (I didn't think it was possible for anything to get hotter then the athlon) anyways I've talked to people that say it might be a bad chipset bad fan/heatsink combo short somewhere near the chipset they also say there is no reason for it to get that hot. When that chip gets hot the system becomes unstable but if its cool it runs fine. Anyone know whats going on?

Most likely a bad board, just exchange for a new one if you can.

If it's heat on the Northbridge, just cool it. Replace the HS/fan, leave the case open with a housefan, or increase the airflow inside the case. Cheaper than a new mobo.
