I told this girl that President's Day used to be a major holiday, like memorial day and the 4th of July, but after Bill Clinton got in office, he was such a bad president that they lowered the status of the holiday so all that's left is a couple of lousy sales at department stores and some places getting off work because its in their union contracts.

I completely made all this shizzat up, but she believed it totally, and even agreed with me.

More like Jimmy Carter did that. It used to be Abraham Lincoln's birthday as one holiday and George Washington's birthday as another. Then they got combined into one and pretty well forgotten by most of the country.

Abraham Lincoln's birthday was equivalent to the Martin Luther King type of holiday in the past. Even the television stations carried a ton of programming about civil rights, abolishion of slavery, emancipation, etc.
