Something I don't get about 24 season 8

At the end of Season 7, Jack and Renee and all the other peeps are on the verge of uncovering this massive corruption, with all these secret people talking to each other with voice distortions and so forth.

So at the end of Season 7, Renee looks like she's about to get her torture on with that one secret dude they captured, and we know Jack gets healed.

So wtf happened to Mr. "I want to see my lawyer?" What happened to that whole group of people?

Is this an entirely new bunch of gang we're seeing Jack having to deal with, or is this probably related to the other head honchos out there who haven't been captured yet.

Renee during Season 7 was an FBI agent, so the people Jack was dealing with other than Buchanan, Chloe, etc. in the "secret group" were FBI agents.

Not much is known about what happened to Wilson, although apparently she did get him to talk but was forced into resigning as a result of the interrogation/torture, and the FBI kept a lid on the details.

It's too early to say whether or not this is somehow connected to the currently-unknown-private-businessmen from season 7, but almost every 24 season has links to events of previous 24 season(s)...for example Nina in season 2 & 3, and Graem Bauer being involved in the events of Season 5 & season 6 (as well as being revealed in 6 as being Jack's brother) being two notable examples off the top of my head.
