place a call with a GSM cellphone, while the call is in session place the phone next to other pieces of audio equipment. ex. amplifiers, computers, landline telephones, fm radios etc.

post your results.

Hey, that's just the way it is. You don't even have to place a call -- you get little blips when the phone is idle.

Edit: But I've got my phone sitting about a foot away from my right speaker right now, and no interference. And I could sit here in front of my computer and talk as much as I wanted without getting any feedback. But if I were to rotate my phone, that would all change. It's all in the angle of the antenna.

I work for a cell phone company and being on conference calls is hilarious because nobody in my department realizes the interference on the line comes from them resting their cell phones on the landline cords.

it blips by a radio. it's actually pretty useful cos if i'm listening to a cd and then i hear a buzz, i know my cellphone will go off.

Happens to me too. The weird part is, though, that it happened when the radio was off (but it was like a radio alarm clock, so the clock was of course on... still seemed strange).:Q
