Something fishy/wrong with paypal.com

Like this post said earlier, I bought something on ebay and paid with my checking account (instant transfer) and my address showed up as UNCONFIRMED. I was like WTF? I've been confirmed well over two years now. So anyhow I try to add another credit card to confirm my girlfriend's address and it says it went through but in the end when I view my profile it says that it is unconfirmed. Can anyone tell me what's up? I've e-mailed paypal and got a regular bot response telling me that the card on file did not verify my home address. I can tell you right now that I never touched or even tried changing my address on my main cc that I have on file with paypal.

If anyone can think of anything of why this is happening, please elaborate.

Otherwise, I guess I have to play the waiting game. I also PMed paypaldamon but he has yet to respond.

Thanks again.

I went to pay someone tonite w/ my checking account.

but it keeps saying Credit Card funds.

I dont even have a credit card.

Do you think something is wrong with their servers or they were hacked?

I would suggest sending an e-mail to the Paypalbot (damon@paypal.com)

This happened to me all the time...

I refunded a payment to one of my buyers b/c his address wasn't confirmed. He emailed me back saying:

When I go through the Pay Now process my address shows confirmed in green. I realize it does not show it in my profile which is strange. I called the customer service office to get a quick answer .... they are having problems with addresses that should be confirmed showing up as not confirmed.

Hi,

The issue has to do with changes to the eBay site recently. Your address will still be confirmed.

Sorry for the delay in response (I was out for two weeks).

We recently introduced a change to the payment process on eBay, where buyers will be taken to a "Review Purchase" page when they click the Pay Now button from a completed listing, My eBay, or an end of auction email. From here, they will be able to choose their shipping address, confirm the item(s) they want to pay for, the total price, and choose a payment method. Buyers will have the option to select shipping addresses from their eBay account, as well as their stored addresses from their PayPal accounts, if applicable. To view our previous announcement about this feature, please click here.

Note: We are aware that this change is causing some PayPal buyers to unintentionally pay with an unconfirmed address. Buyers that have a PayPal confirmed address should click the "Change shipping address" link on the Review Purchase page on eBay to select their confirmed address.

We are working on improved instructions to make this more clear to buyers during the payment process. Until this is available, sellers who receive PayPal payments with unconfirmed addresses will still be protected by PayPal?s Seller Protection Program if the buyer actually has that identical address confirmed within their PayPal account.
