I had a little birdnest in my garage with 5 little baby birds that had just hatched. The mama bird had made it on the second shelf, right next to where I keep the tools and spare wires. Everytime that you opened the side door into the tool room, the little baby birds would turn their heads towards you and open their little mouths, begging for some tiny regurgitated morsel that would satisfy their baby bird hunger.
But dark powers were at work during the night. Something was amiss...
As I rose to go to work this morning, I went to check on the baby birds, as their mother is usually not there when I leave for work, I found myself clawing through the remains of a nest scattered throughout the garage. With no baby birds to be found! Something had entered under cover of the night, and eaten all of the baby birds. I can find no proof of this, but I suspect it was my roommate's cat, Pinky (Evil Incarnate). It also could have been the racoon that had ravaged my dog 3 weeks before, or my roommate's other cat, Kiki.
A "Good Friday" indeed...*sigh*

Well, whatever it was, it also managed to shred my bag of dog food at the very bottom. Seems as if this predator wanted a taste of Kibbles and Bits with his baby bird meal.

Not last night. But I know a racoon lurks around in the area at night. One cut up my dog 3 weeks ago. Bad enough he had to have stitches.
