Well, the folks left the garage door open. You can guess what happened.

Allez Elite 2005 with a Fizik Aliante, Corsa Evo CX on both wheels, a cateye. All gone.

But they didn't take the lubricant, someone is gonna get a squeaky chain, hehehe.

You should be happy. Someone is going to have a very Merry Christmas because of the generosity you and your parents displayed.

That sucks. Something like that should be covered under homeowners insurance?

What insurance? None of that here. Not that I consider myself at a loss in that regard, the insurance would quickly add up to more than the cost of the bike.

It's a pretty quiet neighborhood apart from the occasional rape, shooting and murder, they never even considered insurance.

You guys don't have homeowners insurance?

Umm...that's not good.

On the plus side my mom is delighted that -- and I quote -- "No doped up black man was passing by at the time and murdered us".

If I was a doped up black man and I saw a garage door open, no doubt I'd go in and kill everyone just for the hell of it, so we're fortunate for that :D

This is Fausto-speak. Paging Fausto! Please translate.

ps
I know he got his bike stolen...but with all the doodads in his description, I don't know if it's a WalMart special bike or one of them $5K magnesium-diamond-encrusted jobbies.

google search for allez elite would help :) In fact if you just hi-lite allez-elite, go to context and click search web, it will take you there just like 'that'. A bit over $1000 in total.

Well, it's not a Walmart special nor is it a $5k unobtainium bike either. It's about a $1k bike...you could probably get it for slightly less on year end closeout.

It's a decent entry to mid-level road bike.

Umm.. I'm pretty certain that your parents have homeowner's insurance. In fact, unless they own the home outright, it's almost a given.

Whether or not it will be worth the trouble to claim it (depricated value - deductable) is arguable.
