On the commonplace graphics opitions we have for Notebooks and laptops? Whats good whats not? Is their a difference between laptops and notebooks.

Currently:

MRadeon 9000/9200 would be high end mainstream
MRadeon 7500 would be low end mainstream
MRadeon 9600/Pro would be gaming.
MRadeon 9700 would be future gaming.

There's also nVIDIA cards, but as you probably already know, they are no match when compared to ATI laptop cards.

and of course, there are integrated solutions.

the ati320M (i think that's it) and the intel extreme graphics. both suck for gamers, but if you dont game, you wont care.

the ati320M gets around 1500 in 3dmark2k1. dont know about intel extreme graphics, but it should be about the same. (with both a 2.4ghz celeron and an amd 2200+)

i have a centrino system with 9200 (9000, sorta =) and thath gets me about 5500 3dmark2k1.
