The street is

Seaside Plantation Dr. James Island SC
which is in Charleston County

Looking for someone with the first name Jeff or Jeffrey.

Please PM if you have better luck. I'm going to try the tax site again.

If I'm seeing the right street on google maps, it looks like there's only 4 houses on that road (based on houses with driveways directly off of it). Shouldn't be too hard to find the names of the people at each house.

How were you alerted to this? It sounds like you aren't actually sure if this is identiy theft, jsut that someone with the same name had an ambulance ride recently? Did they use any of your other info like health insurance or home address?

Are you obtaining that info legally? Isn't it illegal for your law enforcement uncle to run names for you, a civilian?

My brother.

If it is not a mixup, I'm filing a police report and it will all be done by the police. I'm just saving them the leg work and taking pictures of the residence and any vehicles on the premises, which is still all legal.

They sent me a bill, so they used my home address.

Will know about the insurance stuff tomorrow.

I'm a cancer survivor and we have dealt with medical billing for years. My wife watches our account like a hawk and said she hasn't seen anything.

I'll update this thread tomorrow with what my wife finds out from work and what I find out from the ambulance company. I promise an update by lunch.

First you need to forge your soul into a Katana.

everyone knows this.

Your username was a let down...let the cops sort it out, you are just going to hurt yourself.

Dude, brother or not; he is majorly breaking the law giving someone that is trying to be an internet badass access to police reports.

Post up his name and office if you think otherwise...scary crap...but most cops don't follow the rules anyway and are really just for hire.

Isnt that all public record anyway? I know I needed a report from back in NJ for an incident I was researching (I was not involved) and all I did was fax a form with what I needed and my signature plus the fee charged, and they sent me everything I needed.

WTF are you babbling about? Nothing has happened. I got a bill and am trying to find out who this guy is. The only thing my brother told me to do is file a police report if it turns out to be something more than a billing mistake. Take off your tinfoil hat and relax.

And now the update:

Ambulance company said they did not have the townhouse number just the street name. They did not use a SSN (thank god) and our birth dates are different. They said to send the letter back as return to sender and note that this is not me.

Wife checked admitting records for the day in question and no one was admitted with my name. So good? Was this guy just using the ambulance as a taxi service?

no dice, but my father is on there from when he didn't pay child support 20+ years ago.
Oops.

I use our county's version of that site all the time. As far as I'm concerned, prior real bad acts have a bearing on future trustworthiness.

Twist ending: op attacks identity thief then identity thief calls for an ambulance and uses op's name again.
