I hope whoever did this gets charged with attempted murder.

Psychologist will be studying the brains and the psychology of gun nutters and right wingers for years to come because their thought process and justification for their actions have got to be based on some really fucked up stuff.

It is attempted murder.

..he means legally. Like, there needs to be an actual charge/crime that defines this. I don't think one currently exists.

However--didn't a judge recently lay the smackdown on some asshat that did this to someone? Still doesn't make it a law, just precedent whenever another case pops up. It takes Congress to actually act and pass a bill towards this regard.

But you know how it is: more laws = less freedumb. :( Mitch is too busy obstructing the proper order to be bothered with doing his actual job of legislating.

No, I knew what he meant but it doesn't change the fact that in my opinion it is attempted murder. Who ever called it in was hoping for an overzealous cop to shoot no questions asked. This swatting thing is really fu*ked up.

I'm struggling on how to actually effectively deter this. I wonder how often this is attempted without significant response or bad outcome. In any event, the more publicity over people getting caught for trying this, the better I think. Less so the magnitude of response, but I agree this is a serious crime.
