Would a v8 even fit in that?

Yup. They're a lot smaller than many people think.

What a useless comparison photo. Should be a rotary for a proper comparison shot!

Do you have any idea what it takes to put an V-8 in one, and the knowledge, skill, tools and most importantly, a place to work on it?

Can't really lose much on a price like 200 bucks. As long as you have space for it.

Why you shouldn't: There's a good chance it'll end up as a lawn ornament and never run, and you'll sell all the parts for a loss some day when you run out of time.

Source: I've tried this and many people I know have. 1/5 of them ever get completed

Not sure what your scrap prices are around there, but here that shell is worth ~$150 as scrap metal. Being in the rust belt though, that rust-free rolling chassis would fetch a lot more than that.

OP: If you have a place to store it without too much of an eyesore, I would do it. A challenging project, but gobs of torque in a 2600 lb car would be fun.

Id get it for anything under 800 :)

If you dont mid runnin without a hood a truck dropout would get you half way there. The tranny is gonna be your biggest purchase unless you want to go auto dragster :)

Yeah, T56's aren't cheap. The best I've found is $900, but it's from an '07 Vette with only 30k on it.

I finally called - it's sold. I've escaped the expense of an unnecessary project. :p

well I would probably tell you it would be nicer to put one in a Nissan S chassis :)

Get S 13! At least where you live the rust hasnt destroyed everything

Now there is a guy in florida that makes a plate that allows you to use a nissan trans. Works on 350 tranny and the z32 five speed which both are stouter than T56s. Can get a cd06 under 500 bucks and the clutches are MUCH cheaper.
