i'm soo mad. some punk stole my phone, and i thought i lost it. i called sprint up today, and they have been using it! omg!!! i'm sooo mad. i got all the number's that they have called, and i've called all of them. i've either left voicemail or something. One of the number i call and the guy is super shady. He hangs up on me at first being like "i don't know what yur taking about", second time i call he acts like he's listening and then he hangs up as i'm giving him my info to call back if he knows anything. third time he just says stop calling here. shaaaady. of course i have no solid proof but i'm suspicious to no end. i'm angry, and hsould be studying for a calc 3 exam i have tommorow.

what should i do? i don't want to just move on, cause that phone was a present to me, and it means a lot to me. any advice would be appreciated.

ok update!!!

i called again and offered a reward, the kid who picked up said "i kno who has it", and that he'll get it to me. he was gonna meet me off of the subway stop. and i was like ok.

i call again cause i decided it would be better if i got a ride to pick it up. i call and his mother picks up. i ask to talk to him, and she asks for his name that i'm calling for, and the name he gave me before was "gator" and i asked for gator. his mom said "theres no gator that lives here, goodbye" and hangs up on me. i call back, i get the father, pretty much the same deal. i have their phone number, from which i derived their address and name, but i'm not going to post that here since it would be more than inconsiderate.

i would like to know what my options are from here. is it possible to file a police report on this evidence? i only want my phone back. i mean granted i would really enjoy just busting his face inside out, but i'm civilized enough to repress that. at least for now.

Well, be sure and terminate your service if you haven't already. Did you try to call your own phone? Keep calling the numbers that have been called, and try to get the guys name.

sorry to hear your bad news mate.

Is it covered onuder any sort of insurance? If so get it back that way but if it had sentimental value then sorry you can't get that back....

I ALWAYS hate to lose things and EVEN worse if they have sentimental values......

It was not stolen. You appear to have lost it. Immediately notify the phone company, they will cancel phone connection. If you had insurance which was only a couple of bucks a month they will replace you phone for $25 to $35. The person who found the phone will not be able to get service on the phone, and since you reported it lost, it will be confiscated if it is brought in to get service and you will not be charged for the phone calls.

Pretend to be a represenative from Sprint and make up some BS about investigating a stolen phone. If they hang up, wait 10 minutes and call as a cop. :D

Dude, the same exact thing happened to me. I called my stolen phone not ten minutes after it was stolen and some guy answers telling me he just bought it from someone. So I tell him "well. whatever, I think you stole it but i'll pay you to get it back. We'll pretend you bought it." So he says he'll meet me at a particular Dunkin' Donuts, and of course he doesn't show. I called it in stolen, but not before they made about twenty calls to Boston, England and some other countries that speak spanish.

I dropped it when I was getting out of my van in front of a methadone clinic and really didn't expect to get it back, but gettin someone on my phone telling me they are not giving it back unless I pay them made me furious, and i'm probably lucky he didn't show up, because I might have shot him.

Yo yo yo,

Forget this the meeting in the subway crap. I'd call the police and file a report. Tell em that that kid you talked to has your phone but he won't give it back unless you pay him. They'll pay him a visit and if he lives with his parents, chances are he'll cave mighty fast and either give the cops the phone or give them whoever has your phone. You'll get your phone back and that punk will think twice about jacking phones.

How is it that every time you lose a cell phone the person who picks it up ALWAYS knows someone in austrailia or japan or england that they feel the need to call every 10 minutes once they get your celly?
