Someone stole my $$$ on paypal from my checking account

What the heck? I woke up yesterday morning and I see my paypal account get charged 50 EUROS, or around $75 US???

What the heck is going on? How does someone rip out $75 from my paypal account without me knowing?

No one knows my password. Anyone have this happened to them? I already filed a dispute for an unauthorized payment from my account, and will file a dispute from bank of american when it shows up in the statement.

exactly what I did last night, this must've been a wake-up call since it was only $75 that he/she paid for from dialnow.com for international phone calls.... son of a beech.

it could've been a lot worst....

Running vista ultimate now with all the updates.

It happened to me over the weekend to...unauthorised $600 transfer, its now back in my account as paypal themselves stopped it. I had to change all my info though.

That's why I don't "verify" with Paypal. Just not worth the risk to let a vulnerable system access a critical system for me. I hear crap like this happening way too often and there's effectively no way to prevent Paypal from taking money from your account.

I have a 2nd checking account with $1 in it that is linked to PP. I just transfer in and out of the 2nd account to PP or my main account. No worries that way.

Is there a way to unlink an account from Paypal? I have my checking linked to it...but i rarely use paypal now...and when I do its through a credit card.

I was talking to PayPal the other day and they offered to link my bank account, my response: "Not in this lifetime."

yeah i have the RSA ID type thing, $5 isn't much to pay for a little sense of security

well I am removing my checking after the REFUND posts................. Thank god they ruled in my favor after only two days after the dispute was posted.

I filed a dispute with paypal, got my money back, and closed my account with them. Paypal is terrible in terms of security.

Well, is there anything else that can take paypal's place? I use it ALOT for selling things and ebay...
