Someone stole my CC#, any one else have this happen?

so apparently, someone got their hands on my CC info, and made some accounts on 4 adult websites. I just got off the phone with their "customer service" center. they kept trying to imply that nobody could have known my address information AND credit card number AND my name...:disgust: has anyone else had this happen? what was the end result, how long did it take? i feel so violated.

Yeah, happened to me a few months ago. 3,000 in stolen stuff. search for post about how debit cards suck and read post in there. details in there. it took me 3 weeks to recover cash, but no biggie.

Had it happen once. I think it was either because of the hacks on eCount and Egghead.com (had my CC info stored there) or maybe when I called in a pizza order with my CC over the phone

Dude why are you hassling with their support. Just write to your CC company disputing the charges.

Happened to me a couple of months ago. About $1400 of charges for porn sites, web hosting, software and a hat mailed from Cincinnati to a bogus address in Singapore!

What really burned me was Apple accepted two charges when the billing and shipping addresses used were 5 years out of date. At least they took the monetary hit, not me.
