I'm driving on the interstate this morning, and a Red Bull van starts drifting to the right and spits up dirt and a rock that made a chunk in windshield. I got out and looked at it, and you can feel the hole... I got the guys plates... is there anything I can do so the company can pay for the repair?

Loctitie sells a chip repair kit for about $20, if you can feel a medium to large hole, you are out of luck, the kit is for samll chips and spider webs.

Good luck. You could try the city/state govt. I know In WA they will pay for any damages caused by a pothole that has been reported to them.

it's small. I'll check out that kit.. thanks for the suggestion

Heck I would call the company and insist they replace the windshield. After all, if it wasn't for their driver drifting off the roadway then it would not have ever happened. If it was just kicked up off the road then they may have an arguement with you,but you said he drifted off the road and that changes evrything....

Some states (like mine--Florida) make it a law that damaged windsheild replacement is covered by all insurance with no deductable.
Check it out, you may pay nothing.

If you are in Florida, you need to update your profile 😉

No, it's not wear and tear, it's from their dumb mistake of riding the rumble strip and staying there. And I could'nt pass.

I am POSITIVE you have ridden on the side of the road before. Maybe you should be forced to pay for someone else's windshield also.

Unless the person complained to him, he doesn't have to pay for crap now, so that is beside the point/discussion here.

That's like having the county pay because you stubbed your toe on a rock on the sidewalk...jeez.

I have windshield coverage with no deductable (FL 😀)..check with your insurance company.

As long as you have comprehensive insurance, you should be able to get the windshield repaired (they can fill and seal the hole so it is all but unnoticeable) without paying a deductible - I think most insurance companies will do this because it beats paying for a new windshield.

That's true, all glass damage is covered in Florida.
If not, get out a torch and melt the divet so it won't crack and spread- cheapest of all solutions 😉

most insurance includes zero deductile on glass...i know i made 50 bucks last time i had my windshield replaced
