Someone spam-bombing my e-mail

Checked my e-mail today and there's tons. I've maybe had 5-10 spam messages in a year on it, got more than that today. Signed me up for all kinds of random crap, very annoying. This e-mail is used only for this forum (for trading) and listed in my profile in maybe 1 or 2 other sites, but it's not visable. I don't think I upset anyone and haven't had any real bad trades or anything. (maybe a post in FI that I was half-way amused with)

Anyhow, I'm trying to track them down but so far I've ran into an wide open sendmail port on a new server. Spamming someone's e-mail is up there with trolling. If somebody has a problem with me I wish they'd have the guts and descency to say it to my face. (or PM or e-mail online) :|

Off for some more hunting.. :evil:
 
This is getting insane. It just keeps coming. Hopefully they'll mess up somewhere and leave a trace. I remember this happening to someone else on here before. Are there any "automatic" places that would help such activity?

This is bordering on criminal. Bastard better be from China or something cause if he's in the US he's mine.

hahaha.... sorry its mean but true. but also, you've been a member here for less than a YEAR and I've actually never seen a single post from you before. I doubt anyone cares enough to spam you
 
everyone gets spam, how could any email account not get spam?

i get 200-300 a day on my domain when my spam assasin isn't working. when it is working, it cuts it down to about 10-20 a day

Thanks for the positive replies. It's not just spam, it's being signed up for list-servs. I try to keep my trading e-mail seperate, so no I don't get normal spam on it.

Well, someone must care enough because they're doing it. 😕 Yea, I've been a member less than a year. You prob' don't remember my posts because I don't go looking for fights or make an ass out of myself. If I started talking about how I don't want to touch the pretty girls because god will give me cancer, you'd remember me for sure. (not that anyone in OT would be that out of it..) 😉

Yea, my normal account gets that. This is just targeted at an account I only use for trading profiles, which is why it's annoying and confusing.

I'd like to think that AT'ers would care about something like this. Insults on a BBB don't mean much, but when it goes beyond that it's messed up.
 
UPDATE: This hasn't been resolved as some ***hole keeps signing me up. Maybe a new record today with 20-25+ listserv sign-ups. It's been awhile since I've from it, but does anyone know the status of "spamcop" nowadays? Anything similar or better that's popped up.

My ISP sucks which doesn't help. Replies to e-mails consist of form answers defining what "spam" is. :roll:

EDIT: Since free e-mails aren't allowed on the FS/FT forum (or inspire confidence) any suggestions on a quality provider that's half-way active in fighting this crap?

Certainly in the realm of possibility. WTF they'd feel spite toward me is a mystery though. If so I'd guess it's a newer member. Most vets of the board would rather bash posters in ATOT than do something as childish. (and borderline criminal)

While P&N has some heated discussions I'm very suprised at the behavior and attitude of a minority of posters here. There are pure out and out jerks trolling with often alarmingly high post counts. (very different than humor or those who make sarcastic comments in passing)

EDIT: The response was surprising. My join date is rather new but I've been readying this forum for a long time. There are many elite members who have my respect (M4H, RossMan, ThePresence, many more mostly from FS/FT) and just a few I don't care for. Most negative reactions came from 5000 posts or lower club.
