OK here's the deal.... i'm about to buy a customized dell from the website. Dell only sells their computers with Intel motherboards as you know but you can choose whether you want RDRAM or DDR SDRAM and i wanna know which i should pick (i'm gonna get 512 MB of either)

the RD ram is PC800 @ 400 MHz

the DDR SDRAM is PC2100 @ 266 MHz

any help would be Greatly appreciated. thanks

Some people swear by DDR RAM, but others like RDRAM. RDRAM has a faster clock speed, but thats isnt the be all end all. I think they are prolly about the same. DDR RAM is cheaper and might minimize overall cost, plus, now that I think about it, it is prolly easier (not too much) to buy additional DDR RAM (cheaper too). Also, the number after the PC is MB/s throughput (theoretical) i dunno if the two choices are directly proportional or what, but DDR is definitely cheaper

EDIT: /me chooses DDR RAM

This is a question for the General Hardware forum or Off-topic forum. Sorry, but this is not a highly technical question.
