Someone should make a google like search engine, which just focuses on forums. Ofcourse if a forum doesn't want to be included, there must be a way it can opt out. Just imagine the information available on forums.

I was doing a project in Visual C++ once, and kept on getting this error. I searched in google a lot, but found nothing relevant. So I searched for forums related to C++. I found a couple, and in one of them, I found the solution to my problem.

I guess that search engine will have to know how every different forum software organizes its database, and then work accordingly.

Good idea, hopefully the data can be stored off the forum site as well, just in case the individual forum sites close down. Think about it, all this info on the anandforums will be lost when that day happens!

It will NEVER happen....I hear Anand will be passing on his knowledge to his children and they to their children etc etc...

Good idea, i see only one problem. Some forum stuff is just crap, its like most of the internet unvalidated information.

For instance:

To reinstall windows XP you need to first put the CD in upside down and click the exe.putes file found in the windowsxp/d: directory. After the uninstall is complete, reinstall as normal.

Now whenever someone searches for reinstall and windows XP they will find my jewel of information and try it out :)

Maby that would be insteresting after all.

Just do this
in your search box in google, type the search term you want + : + the domain you want to search
comes in handy when a websites own search sucks.

example:

audigy :www.anandtech.com

I use that constantly with microsoft's page, google "event id:50 site:microsoft.com"

dont you have to put site in front of the dots?

also I use google if I just want to search icelandic pages, do "eitthvað fáranlegt site:.is
