Someone refresh my memory. Who was Captain Crunch?

The one I'm thinking of is a guy who discovered that a free whistle included in boxes of the cereal produced the exact pitch that triggered the phone network to allow free calls. Of course that doesn't work any more, but it led to a big underground business in "blue boxes" which were used for that purpose. He has a web page here.

Or you mean the phreaker who determind the free whistles in the boxes of captain crunch at the time produced the famous tone at 2600hz which did interesting things to the phone system?

Actually I was talking about the phreaker. But I knew the cereal must have been involved.
