Wild Turkey 101 is the best value in bourbon - it's excellent and relatively inexpensive. I don't know how it would compare to other bourbons for cooking purposes, but I see no reason to buy something crummy merely because you're using it for cooking, since presumably someone will want to drink some at some point.
Pikesville rye has a nice flavor, and is fairly inexpensive. It's not a bourbon, but it would be good to cook with. I like Knob Creek for drinking, but Jim Beam might be good for cooking. It's a decent whisky, but I don't know how it's priced. If it's close to Wild Turkey, I'd just get the WT, but if it's significantly cheaper, buy that.
Maker's Mark is considered by many to be the best bang for your buck. Since it's for cooking, and I bet it's only a small amount, get some Maker's to drink and use for cooking.
