Hi,

All I've ever had is Skype and an emergency trac phone.

I don't want a full on smartphone (mainly because of price).

Here is what I want.

I want a phone that I can download opera mini on and that I can use twitter on. A decent camera would be nice. Thats it. I don't care about app stores, etc. . . . just a phone that'd do those three things would be awesome.

Which phone should I look at? I'm talking contract phones of course.

Really I thought that opera mini worked on a variety of phones. I just don't know which, and the ppl at the local kiosk looked at me like get an android phone. I know it works on some of the midrange 'dumbphones' I just need to know which. . .

Do you not want to pay for a data plan, or is it just the price of the phone thats the issue?

Data plan. . .you can't get 3g here anyway. Even smartphones work 2g here. I just want a decent little browser to read news, update twitter occasionally, and maybe snap a pic or two.

Verizon has a limited data plan for $15 now. Maybe you should consider that paired with one of the cheaper android phones.

Sounds like you should go to Amazon and get a Droid Incredible, X or 2 for a penny and the $15 data package. You would have to get a data package with a featurephone to use Twitter anyway and I think those are at the $10 range anyways. May as well get a kickass little computer/electronic toy/oh yeah phone as well. The DX was backordered, the D2 and DI were in stock.

Of course the Amazon deals come with double the ETF goodness so be sure before you buy. Good luck.

VZW is charging $10 for data on "feature" phones and if your usage is going to be limited do as others have said and just get a real smartphone for cheap and get the $15 data plan.
