Someone possibly trying to keylog me

On MSN today, everyone that I don't have on my list, but they have me on theirs, have been sending me random links that are all about the same. When I try to reply, it says they are offline which makes it seem like it is a virus.

Here are two of the links I was sent just now:

http://brulliard.pics.shaq[DOT

Don't post links to suspected bad stuff without breaking them.

I HIGHLY recommend you don't click the links unless you know what they are, or what you are doing. I have not opened them myself as they just don't seem legit.

Could someone help me figure out what these links are to (my guess is a keylogger) and how to stop people from sending them to me. I almost clicked on one of them when my friend sent me a file over MSN and a new convo popped up right on top of his with the link in the same place.

Also, I have blocked these people, but they still get messages to me.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

It's been over two days and nobody has replied. This is a bit disheartening as I have always been able to get fairly quick responses from the Security board before.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't use chat clients so I won't be much help, have you tried trillian or another chat manager? (I.E. maybe it's an MSN issue?).

I use GTalk, Vent, and MSN. This has only happened on MSN, but I am still getting these links sent to me.

Also, it seems that I am the only one getting these messages as the second link I supplied, was sent by someone I used to play online with. Another friend of mine had him added as well, and he has not received any messages.

Alright, I just received, yet another message after a lull of a few days.

This is the link:
brouillard88@hotmail.com says:
http://brouillard88.images.03kem.inf

I have tried e-mailing him, but the reply I get, is the exact same message. I marked him as spam and have yet to receive anymore e-mails.

Does ANYONE have any clue how I can get these to stop being sent to me? Any information as to what these links are is greatly appreciated.

I broke your link, someone can fill in the rest of the URL if they really want to visit it.
Thanks

To Chaoticpenguin666,

At this point you seem to be guessing. I assume the spam links are coming to you by email but that seems vague. If a spammer has your email address, you are on their list, and short of changing email addresses, they can send you email until the cows come home. But if its not email and they have a back door into your computer, its a far more serious problem.

But you are thinking keylogger? Or virus. Both possible. So what scanning programs are you using to see if you can find and remove the culprit? That it seems to me is step one. Failing that check for rootkits and use on line scans. And you can post a hijack this logfile on a forum like spywarewarrior.com to make sure you don't have a problem.
Or you can nuke everything and do a clean reinstall.

I have scanned for keyloggers using KL-Detector and came up empty. Also scanned for Spyware and Adware with Spybot and Ad-Aware and came up empty yet again.

The only reason I suspect it would be a keylogger is that the person I am getting them from on MSN Messenger (I blocked his e-mail and have stopped receiving e-mails from him) is that we used to play an Online game together. He decided to scam me out of some items and it just went downhill from there. My buddy froze his account for stealing from me (it's what friends are for) and he has been trying to get back at me ever since.

He (brulliard) was always asking me if I knew were some good hacking programs so he could steal other people's accounts, so I wouldn't put it passed him to actually find one and test it out on me.

Like I said, I have not clicked any of those links, but I would love it if someone who was experienced with this, like mechBgon, could somehow check those links and see what they are.

If you have reason to believe you are infected and you aren't coming up with any hits on various programs just format your computer, it may save you time in the long run. Also if you aren't going to visit the links don't worry about what's on the other end. ;)

I don't believe I am infected as I never clicked those links. I just want to know how to prevent those messages from popping up and find out what they are.

Like I said before, the messages are being sent from someone who I left on bad terms with. Someone who was always looking for various hacks to steal accounts and passwords. And someone who is currently blocked, but found someway around the MSN Messenger Block.
