Someone point me out to buying pokerchips.

I scored a set from BCC (bluechipcompany) before they went down. They supplied chips to a number of casinos in Vegas and AC. My favorite set by far.

The best ones are Paulson, but you need a minimum order of 100k if you want customization.

Poker Chips Online (http://pokerchipsonline.com/) sells clay chips that are throwbacks to the 60's and 70's. GREAT feel and tons of customization options. They did the chips for Rounders and Boiler Room. I have a set of these that I really like, too.

If you want ceramics, go with Chipco. I have a set of these, as well, but they're my least favorite. A lot of people really like these (and casinos are moving to them more and more) because they weigh about a gram more than clays, but they lack feel in my book.

Visit chiptalk.net. GREAT site for poker chips.

The problem with buying chips from Amazon or WalMart is that anyone else can buy them, too, and introduce "rogue" chips into your game (have had it happen).

The chips you're looking at are "slugged," meaning they have metal inserts to give them weight. If you're looking for true casino feel, those aren't it.

That chipset you listed on AMZN should be sufficent for a 6-10 person sit-n-go poker tournament provided you have different denominations for each color.

Here's a good structure that the Venetian uses for their tournament:

Starting stack count: 15,000
Each level should last probably 15-30 min (depends how fast you want the tournament to go).

Level - Small Blind / Big Blind / Ante

1 - 50/100/0
2 - 75/150/0
3 - 100/200/0
4 - 100/200/25
5 - 200/400/25
6 - 300/600/50
7 - 400/800/75
8 - 500/1,000/100
9 - 600/1,200/100
10 - 800/1,600/200
11 - 1,000/2,000/300
12 - 1,200/2,400/300
13 - 1,500/3,000/400
14 - 2,000/4,000/500
15 - 3,000/6,000/500
16 - 4,000/8,000/1,000
17 - 5,000/10,000/1,000

Don't get an aluminum case, they are garbage. 500 chips would be plenty for 10 unless you do super stacks.

I'll be hosting hold'em games with friends. Standard no-limit and probably 6-10 people.

1. What's a good chip count? No less than 500? 1000?
2. Cheaper the better BUT I don't want crappy ones nor do I want 100% authentic super clay WPT edition.

http://www.amazon.com/Trademark-Poke...5752772&sr=8-1 Is 500 enough?

walmart 300 chips $20
target 400 chips $25

both are casino weight (11.5g).

the target one comes w/4 chip racks which hold 100 chips each. buy 2 sets and 8 of your players will have chip racks. sucks to be the other 2 😱
