My laziness finally caught up to me. I was doing well early in the semester until now. In the past few days I bombed two test and a quiz. And I got two essay exam to do this weekend on books I haven't touched yet as well as a Physics lab. Yet I spent all weekend playing Diablo 2 and watching TV. Now most likely if I want to even do a half-ass job, I would have to stay up all night in the next 2 days to get this done. And I told myself I would do it all during the weekend too! Man sometimes I wonder whether or not there are people out there who are as lazy as I am. It's like I never learn.

I transfered to another college to be with my gf. I went from NYC to Indiana. She broke up with me and now I am left with a university thats has filled me up with a stupid CIS program. I need 20 classes to graduate and in NYC I just need 10. I am stuck now with classes that dont deal with programming and i am pissed. I am blowing this semester off cause i am moving back to NYC. Yeah we broke up by the way.

well, you know the feeling of overwhelmed...

I experienced it this semester.

First time taking 8 courses. 3 economics, 4 decent courses, my senior seminar course.

8 courses is managable, but when you are taking one graduate-level course that YOU don't even have the prereqs cuz your taking them concurrently, you feel the pressure.

To do with all this, I just purposely schedule meetings with teacher so I have immediately deadlines. Yes, I may procrastinate and wait until last minute to prepare the stuff for the meeting, but in the end, I will end up learning (cuz spent a lot of time on the material) and get a good grade.

you aren't an idiot.

I guess the other head took presedence (sp!) over the head with a brain. :)

Know some people who did this and, they too, regret doing it (well, their parents did). Girl forgoed (sp!) princeton, yale, MIT, etc to go to UCLA so she can be with her boyfriend. Parents were pissed like hell; but it is her life.

My calculus (2nd year engineering, btw) midterm is tomorrow (today actually, in about 13 hours)... I haven't done any of the assignments yet (5 of them). Haven't opened the textbook, didn't visit the course website until today. I've written notes down but never reviewed them. I failed calc last year, so it's obvious that I suck at it and I'm not gonna go in there and own without studying. This weekend, played CS, watched TV, slept in until 3-4 sat. and sun. Verdict: too damn lazy to do calc.

In fact, I can honestly say that I haven't done any review, any questions or any assignments all year for any of my 5 classes. And it's been 2 months since class started...

All I can say is, LOL. I'll be repeating this next year. And for some reason, I just don't care ;)

sketchy

now U understand the word "overwhelmed"

One version is PANIC.

Other version is, "Oh screw it." Then you start to rationalize: I'm only 20 years old...many ppl are doing 5 years of college...college life is great, why leave early..etc etc

:)

Heheh, that is EXACTLY what I'm thinking. Uni is fun, and I'm a year younger than most of my classmates, so I'll be on the same page as them :)

The only thing holding me back from just doing absolutely nothing is the fact that my parents have expectations :p So I'll probably end up cramming like a madman when panic sets in... but I'm still waiting on that... lol. I can't believe I have such little interest in my classes - I think I need to switch majors.

I wasted sooooooooooooooooo much time last year it wasn't even funny. I failed one class each term, making it so I had to retake it next term. Spring term, I really fvcked up and got a D in a class that's in my major, so I'm going to look like a complete fool going to the same class with a bunch of froshies during next spring term..
Then, last winter term, I failed MTH 252 (easiest of ease!) for no reason, so instead of taking MTH 254 during spring term, I retook 252.. NOW, I'm in Statics (engr 211, which is a HARD class) and all this vector junk does NOT make any sense!

moral of story?
Learn how to suck it up and just get the job done. Sitting on your ass during the weekend or at night during the weekday is the worst thing you can do!

taking class with freshmans? I got a 55 out of 100 and I was one of 3 (other two were seniors too) who failed test. There were 20+ A's, rest were Bs and 3 of us got F's! I didn't miss class; I just didn't study for test and just went to class zoned out. This class is for my major. HOwever, I talked to teacher before test and after the test, I attended all day a asian seminar. Funny enough, he was the moderator and took notice of me being there all day. Said he will drop test grade (not even factor in grade) if I did well on others. And I didn't even "beg" (which I NEVER DO; never have, never will)...he proactively told me that
