One of my customers owns a Dominos Pizza and he is running a custom software package to track orders. He has one computer in the back office and terminals connected to it in the front of the store. Conncected to the computer is a box that looks very much like a switch but it has like 8 or 10 RJ11 jacks on the back and two serial ports. I did not see anything identifying the manufacturer, only the name of the company that sold him the box. This box is apparently some sort of caller ID box used to display the incoming numbers on the computer terminal (according to my customer). I have never seen one before and am wondering where I can find one?

Anyone?

Okay, I found this website which identifies the hardware for me:

These things are pretty darned expensive... Now the question is, anyone know what my alternatives are? Are there others that are less expensive?

Is it some kinda PBX (Digital) phone system thing? Most use RJ45 (This is why hotel travelers used to fry modems all the time)...
All the phones at work use them & have an ID system built into them...
