My system uses an Nvidia Quadro NVS285 (basically is a 6200 turbocache). I havent been playing games for most of the year and its ok enough for basic gaming so I figured it would be a decent card (it was like $40 too which is the main reason i got it). I also use it for dual monitors.
so its great except for one thing. If i click on a video file (any file, like .mpg, .avi etc) and push the Delete button, the screen blacks out and then comes back to normal.
I have no idea what is going on, but it is quite annoying . It doesnt happen on any other types of file either. I think it might have to do with the Nvidia NVIEW stuff that is in the context menu, as it does it when i right click on a video file also. Since I have 2 monitors you can right click on the video file and choose which monitor for it to play on. with the newest detonators this just crashes.
if i used the 77.56 (which is the highest official quadro driver) the video play thing works, b ut i still get a weird blackout right clicking video files.
btw this worked fine when I tried it with a Geforce 6600. But with the Quadro it doesnt work. and strangely if i have the Nvidia part of the advanced display settings on screen everything works perfect. but only when that panel is on the screen. wtf nvidia, i thought you made good drivers.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I might just buy a different card eventually as this is well it should happen.
