Hi guys , this iMAC is starting to get on my nerves. Even when I pulled up this post window and clicked on the message title area a box popped up asking what I wanted to do.
Is there a good set of settings to use in Safari or do I have to learn to live with it? I miss my Windows and IE. :(

Post a screenshot of what you are referring to please, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Press Command+Shift+3 to take a full screen shot
Press Command+Shift+4 to select an area for the screen shot

I think I figured it out, clicking the left side of the mouse (primary) sometimes hits the right side(secondary) I think I need to just get my mouse exchanged. Maybe I should throw in $20 and tell him I want a wireless mouse. But then again that might be asking for trouble. I have big hands so that could be part of the problem. Although my Logitech mice on Windows machines never gave me this problem.

I got another question, what kind of deal should I expect from my Apple dealer that I just bought my iMac from on Apple Care? He tried to push it on me the purchase day , I guess if he don't offer me a discount I can threaten to return the iMac. :)

Yep, we'll need a screenshot - not sure if I know what you're talking about.

In the meantime, you should definitely install Inquisitor, an addon for Safari that is pretty nice and customizable.

Enjoy your new iMac! ;)

Ditch the Mighty Mouse - it's trash! Do yourself a favor and get a Logitech G5 Laser or MX518, two of my most favorite mice of all-time!

Yea, sounds like you need to ditch the Mighty Mouse. I personally really like mine, but I think that you'd be better off with a Logitech MX518, or something similar. You're right clicking on accident, which is causing the context menu to show up.

Try a new mouse before you get too frustrated.

Whoops, I had the left and right mixed up, I edited my posts.

It was sometimes hitting the left hits the right on the mouse. I aint coming out of a dime until I try another mighty mouse. I just bought this thing less than a week ago.

I actually like this tiny mouse and short cable. The keyboard is tiny , but I think I can adjust to it. The tiny mouse and keyboard look nice with the iMac.

Looks are more important than comfort is. I will go trade in my mouse for a new one and if its the same then I know that its me doing it. I will just teach myself to handle the mouse. Ive improved by 3-4 hundred percent on the tiny keyboard in less than a week. I'll make em work.

Inquisitor works with every version of safari, including the beta.

Just a couple personal tips about the Might Mouse..

1) Try holding it more with your palm instead of your fingertips.
2) Lift your pointer finger when you do a secondary click.

Thanks Kmax. I traded it in today, he tried out my mouse and gave me a new one $49.00 , wow they are expensive. Its a dang nice mouse, I will make it work. At this point it does seem that the mouse that came with my iMAC was indeed defective.

Someone who uses Inquisitor please tell me about it, who makes the software and does Apple approve of it?

Inquisitor: I originally started using it when I was using Safari 3, since it would give me AutoComplete and additional search engines.

Since Safari 4 built in AutoComplete, that was no longer necessary, but I had become so dependent upon the additional search engines, and the look of it that I waited patiently (or not) until Inquisitor worked with the Safari 4 Beta.

Here is how I use it. I open a new tab, and then hit TAB to get to the search box. I type in something like... Ghostbusters. I hit Command+Shift+I to go to IMDB.com to check what actors were in it, or when it came out. I hit Command+Shift+A to go to Amazon.com to buy a copy of the movie. I hit Command+Shift+P to go to a certain torrent site that starts with P to see if I can 'acquire' the movie while I wait for the Amazon shipment to arrive. I can hit Command+Shift+N to search for it on Netflix.

All those shortcuts are user definable, and not built in.

It is made by Dave Watanabe, he also writes xTorrent and Acquisition, which are for-pay torrent and P2P app (respectively).

I do not know what you mean by 'does Apple approve of it?'
