So my computer was acting a little funny so I tried to run the disk utility. Here's the popup.

I'm a windows guy so I'm fairly lost. Pointers?

Yea, I have never really noticed any advantage to using Repair Permissions to fix problems. I mean, running it doesn't hurt, but I don't understand why it is still recommended.

Anyway, as Chaotic asked, funny in what way?

the "modified and will not be repaired" messages

All that says to me is that the binary doesn't match whatever baseline it's using so it doesn't want to f' with the permissions on it. Since I don't know where that baseline comes from, I would assume it's something as simple as an update that didn't include an update to that baseline.
