Someone placed a "Slow Down: Children At Play" sign in the middle of the street

And when I say middle I wish I meant it. It's more like two-thirds to the left so that it restricts traffic to one lane, so that the worthless parents that erected it can have their worthless little apes roam around so that they might not become a mushpot of pre-pubescent flesh until the become old enough to venture past the neighborhood. If I "accidentally" hit the sign, I can sue for any damages, correct?

1) Get out of your car
2) Move sign to side of road
3) Continue on your way

If they say anything, just tell them to piss up a tree and not block the street. I don't have a problem with the signs, just don't use them to start creating road hazards.

Pretty much this. Blocking the street or interfering with the flow of traffic is likely against the municipal code.

Is that a Pitfall hole in your path? lmfao

In all seriousness, I can understand parents doing this. People drive like assholes through neighborhoods now, and being a parent I give a shit these days. I would have agreed with you 10 years ago.

"now"? I don't think that has changed much since the inception of the automobile. If parents are so worried, maybe they should go to the fucking park. I don't see why you HAVE to let your ~4-6 year old kids play with balls in the street. The sign in the cul-de-sac is acceptable to me as I do not live in it, but otherwise...

Yeah, I'd be moving that sign in a heartbeat.

Children can play all they want.
You teach your damn kids to stay out of the street, otherwise you hand them over to the chances involved in Darwin's Game o' Life.

The mom's probably a helicopter parent, too. Bah.

Undoubtedly. Minivan with "My children are Honor Roll blahblah at blahblah elementary school" bumper stickers, and they're the only house that puts up a nativity scene for Christmas (and a giant one too). Beats the previous tenants who had a beat-up limo as their daily driver which stuck literally into the middle of the cul-de-sac, however.

I remember being told as a kid by my parents, you do not play in the street.

Here they actually write ON the pavement....do you really want someone looking down and trying to read the text while driving by your house? seems counter productive...or maybe they actually want to get rid of the kids..

unnecesary distraction as a child tries to cross road infront of sign.
oops.
parenting fail.

Best advice for parents: make sure your kids know to look both ways and cross defensively. To pedestrians people in cars are assholes. To people in cars pedestrians are assholes.

If the sign is not authorized by the city, call them and complain. If they don't come remove it...do it yourself. Toss it in a dumpster.

Parenting fail, if it was at the start of the cul-de-sac that would have been correct.

I would have been an asshole and blew by it and run it over. Fuck people who think the world revolves around them.
