Someone partied a little too hard for St. Paddy's Day in my hood.

Dear Homeowner: I wanted to advise you we had a home invasion in the neighborhood last night. Keith and Tisha --------, XXX29 Rosewood, awoke at 2:45 a.m. this morning to find an unknown intruder in their home. The police responded in approximately two minutes and the suspect was arrested in their house. The suspect is approximately 58 years old. Burglary/Robbery does NOT appear to be the motive. It appears that the man was either homeless or disoriented and decided to use the home as temporary shelter.

The intruder entered through an unlock front door. This email is sent as a reminder to always keep your doors locked and your garage doors closed, especially at night. If you see your neighbors’ garage door open after dark, I am sure your neighbor would appreciate the reminder call that their door is open. If you see something suspicious in the neighborhood, trust your instincts. Call the police. I have spoken to numerous police officers over the years, and they have consistently confirmed they would rather respond to prevent a crime than take the report of a crime.

who the hell doesn't lock their front door? I don't live in a shitty neighborhood, but I still lock all my doors at night.

it doesn't really help if someone has specc'd lockpicking up to 100 and has an enchanted set of lp gear.

Surprises me how many people DON'T lock their exterior doors and leave their garage doors open around me.

My one neighbor is a 20something divorced mother of 1 child and she leaves her garage door open constantly. Just amazes me how risky that seems like it'd be. We HAVE had home intruders in our neighborhood in recent years also.

when I used to have roommates we never locked our front door or patio doors...

now that I live by myself, I'm ultra paranoid about locking my door. I won't even take the dog out w/o locking my door.

Well, this didn't happen in a shitty neighborhood, but I don't know why they didn't have their door locked. Their house backs up the golf course too, so some drunkard may have been wandering along out there and thought their house looked like a nice place to sleep.

It was from the HOA.

Those bastards, how dare they tell you how to live your life, no one can tell you to lock your doors and keep the garage door closed. Fuck them, leave every window and door in your house open tonight as a protest!

This story reminds me of another story about a friend of mine in his college days. First you have to picture this guy. He was the body builder type but rather gentle and meek so we called him Baby Huey.

One night he got so drunk that when he was let out at his apartment complex he went to the wrong set of stairs, climbed them, and entered the apartment in the same location as his would be. This is after 1 AM in the morning. He goes into the kitchen and grabs a snack. Then he goes into the den and strips down to his underwear, sits down on the couch, and proceeds to eat his snack. He made enough noise to wake up the Asian guys who lived there. You can imagine the hilarity that ensued.

Too bad they didn't have a neighborhood watch captain patrolling their streets.
