Someone needs to manufacture an engine like this...

Diesel in nature
turbo charged obviously.
hydrogen injected to get more efficiency (see here)
Hybrid for even better, and insane low end torque (more than diesels typically offer)
BioDiesel fuel.
Propane injection system

who wants a 500hp, 800 lbft engine, with 30/45 mpg estimates!! (purely made up, but its possible)

that would be so cool.

I just wish the car companies would sell more diesels over here. Stupid Americans and their irrational fears.

"Eww diesels??? Aren't they dirty?"

VW sells cars with diesel engines, so it's obviously feasible for the US market, but there's apparently not a market for them.

Wait a minute, it's still listed on their site. And I did see a TDI on the road today.

the MKIV is still sold in certain areas, but not Cali.

the MKV GTI doesnt have a diesel, and none of the new VW's do.

you canstill drive the old ones, but you cant buy a brand new one in Cali for sure.

Since when is California indicative of the entire United States? You brought up CARB in the first place, but I fail to see how their policies take supremacy over the other 49 states'.
