Someone needs to explain the full GUTB story.

In here, http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=38&threadid=278452, I made a reference to GUTB. All I know is that he was a huge Intel zealot that came on the boards before my time. Will someone explain - for me and some of the other newer members of the board - the full story of GUTB?

From what I remember, he was always pulling stuff out of his rear-end to try and support his senseless ramblings about the alleged superiority of Intel over AMD. It seemed to become more ridiculous as time went on. I am sure that others can fill in the blanks quite nicely. He was only slightly more biased than the news media.

He's been kicked off many message boards on the net, but if you look hard he can still be found dropping his turds in threads on some sites.

since he was banned from this board. he had a brief stint at the gamers.com boards, and now still frequents the comments replies of news bits at firingsquad.gamers.com and has the same good ole' gutb reputation.

He WAS actually funny at times, to watch him make an ass outta himself. Otherwise, he was annoying - and I bitched him out a couple of times back in the day

The problem with GUTB was not that he had a different opionion, but the way that he crashed into every thread with it. If someone asked a question as to what is the best motherboard for a AMD processor he would jump in and post that AMD was crap and to only buy Intel. He would then pull out a bunch of stats of which a few were true and many were not trying to prove his point.

Eventually every thread that he was in turned into a flame war. The mods warned him, he persisted, he was banned.

I think he was one of the reasons that posting from AOL was banned. He would create new screen names on AOL and setup new accounts here. AOL would not do anything to stop it, so all AOL accounts were stopped from posting.

And that is more attention and time then he really deserves.
