You know, it may be thanksgiving break, and we may all be college students, but it is 3 frigging o'clock in the morning and I have to be up for work in 3 hours, so this is NOT the time to be randomly running up and down the halls yelling!

Argh!

Turn off your computer and plug your ears. Getting up and pissing around online won't help anything.
This has happened to be tons of times, eventually you'll sleep through it just fine.

Join the military. You'll learn to sleep through some kids running in the hallway.

Come on, dont you remember what it was like when you were in college?

Im completely annoyed when I go to movie theaters because of loud obnoxious teenagers yelling and doing stupid things for attention, but I remember what it was like to be that age, and I did the same things. So instead of allowing myself to get angry and do something about it, I'll either ignore it, or I'll go to a different movie theater.

My suggestion.....move. :D j/k

I remember being in college and having a final the next day at 7am and people started talking (loudly) outside my window at 8PM and didn't stop til about 6am. I had to go take a final on almost no sleep because many people under the age of 25 have no respect for other people.

I had plenty of success with "hey guys, I have a final tomorrow. Would you guys mind talking down the hall? Thanks." It's surprising how well talking to people can solve problems quickly and easily.

I know what you mean. My apartments are four to a hallway and the people across the hall have kids who scream constantly. I can hear the kid screaming now, through two doors and with my roommate talking.

Damned kids.

I had annoying neighbors that liked to argue around 2am or so, so I would play"The Matrix" DVD and select the hallway scene with the subwoofer on maximum.

Lol at mod quote. too true.

i can imagine quite clearly how effective a fishing line tied from one wall to the other would be. :D

I've had too much of trying that, and people either ignore me entirely, or they'll just stare at me for several silent seconds, and then it's as though I suddenly vanished into thin air, and they just go right back to talking. Or I get the confrontation, when they tell me, "Why don't you stop talking and bothering us?" So I gave up years ago on confronting anyone about anything. Some people, when they talk, others listen. I'm one who, when I talk, no one cares.

Might I recommend guitar string instead? It'd still be invisible to idiots running blindly through the halls, and it should have higher tensile strength at a smaller diameter. Just like a cheese slicer through brie. And you'd have a nice audible tone after the string has been "discovered."
