At least 3 vehicles (including my 97 ram 1500) were broken into at my apartment complex last night. They opened my locked truck with a screwdriver (thanks Dodge you a$$holes) and proceeded to jack with the ignition switch. The maint guys at my apartment were able to "modify" it to be opened with a screwdriver, so now it is semi-useable. I want to kill someone.

Where do you live?

Thank god I live in an area with uber low crime. My pioneer deck just screams *Steal Me!* to anyone who is within 15 feet of the car.

Yeah, I had that problem when I lived in central Phx (19th ave and camelback/16th st and indian school). I had my car broken into 2x and my apt broken into once. I loved how much Phx PD works on these cases, as both times they declined to even send someone out to look at my car (they said that too much time had passed - in an hour the first time - and that they wouldn't be able to do anything). Even when I found the screwdriver (first breakin) and rock (second), and tried to tell them about it, they still wouldn't do anything about it.

That said, you have to wonder why we've got the highest rate of car theft in the nation.
