Someone just tried to break into our car!

I was abruptly woken up at 3:30am this morning to the sound of the alarm to our Kia Sportage 02. It has a soft top back. So, after a few minutes of laying in bed awake hearing this alarm going off, I jump out of bed, no shirt, throw on some shorts and shoes and go outside with a flashlight. Someone attempted to cut a hole through the soft top portion of the Sportage. I guess the alarm scared them off. This really pisses me off. First of all, my head hurts, it's hard night of drinking, and I was woken up. 2nd of all, I live in a very decent middleclass suburb community in Maryland and this kind of thing is unheard of in my neighborhood. So, after looking around the car and such, I jumped in the other car and drove around the neighborhood looking for anyone outside or a car running, or something like that. Nothing.......then I filed a police report.


Anyone have any experience with something like this?

Yea, there wasnt much in there except an old chutes and ladders game (dont ask) and some sunglasses.

Dude, I was pissed off. I was woken up, pissed off by that and the fact that someone cut a hole in our car window. I was hoping to find someone doing the same thing to another car or find someone acting suspicous. I had a big as$ 1.5 foot long mag light. Those things are heavy.

sounds to me like this wasn't some small pussy little girl going after the thief...

I do the same thing when my alarm goes off.. I would gladly deal with a broken window on my car if it meant I got to beat the living sh!t out of a thief.

You sir are a genius b/c that is exactly what I was doing. My flashlight is kick ass and im not sure the kick ass-ness could be any higher.
