Well ain't that odd... I got an e-mail saying I had received $155 in my paypal account... At first I thought it was a scam, but when I checked my paypal there apparently is $155 there... with a comment that it's payment for a car part? I ain't selling any car parts though..

It's an instant transaction, so... should I just issue a refund and give him the money back or is there something more to this than I think I know? Interesting...

I would just send it back. If he complains your account might get locked and paypal will just mess with you for months.

I don't know exactly how paypal rules work, but I'm generally paranoid, so if it had been me the thought would have crossed my mind - what if someone uses a stolen credit card to fund a paypal transaction? Would that mean the original payment to you could later be retracted but your payment back again not be?

Probably just me being paranoid, perhaps paypal rules don't work like that, but that's the first thing I'd have wondered about.
