Someone is confused about the definition of "Rape".

remember those people saying FHRITP on live tv?

some journalists claim they were raped because they were exposed to the words of those people saying FHRITP.

sadly, some libtard judge is going to agree with them one day.

that has to be a troll or parody. It's rape when a brother teases another girl? really?

It seems like english is not her first languague and probably thinks "tease" is synonymous with "harass" or "demean".

You guys can't possibly be as dense as you all appear to be. Can you?

How so? Perhaps her video would make better sense in Hindi, but I'm not sure that applies to all of it. Her statement "I got raped when my dad hit my mom." is hardly something that can easily get lost in translation.

I'm sorry but even in a horrible situation like that she was not "raped" and equivocating the two situations is condescending to rape and domestic abuse victims alike. I say that as someone who's been through the latter.

There are other examples I could pull up, but suffice it to say her whole video smacks of that naive false charity where someone who's never even been near a given situation says "I know how you feel. [aren't I awesome?]" I'm sure her intentions aren't bad, but they're clearly misguided.

I'm not saying it's a good metaphor, dude, but I don't think she's confused about what the word means. It's obviously intentional hyperbole meant to reinforce a point about empathy and shared conditions.

Yes, a very naive point. Saying "I was figuratively raped when *insert completely different circumstance*" in a serious manner just shows how little insight her supposed empathy affords her; otherwise she'd realize that she's disrespecting actual rape victims by throwing the word around as she does.

I think you're giving her too much credit. That video struck me as yet another naive-early-20s-social-crusader video. Some college kid thinks they've reached enlightenment after taking a few humanities courses and shares their "profound" opinion on youtube/facebook/etc. There are millions of such vids, although I will say this one had better production values than most. Looks like a semester project for a Communications class or something.

Agreed, and had to post a comment on the site!
