ouch, sorry to hear, that SUCKS big... i was at my local vons once, and saw a shopping cart from afar make a wonderous spiralling journey down a slope about the distance of 6 cars and nail a car broadside,... needless to say it was painful to watch... was too far to stop it...

:( That's rotten, people should be more considerate with their carts. I've no idea how to fix it, rubbing compound? Is the damaged part metal or fiberglass?

I'll live sure but its annoying as all hell! I mean I just got the car :(

Umm I think the bumper is just rubber. Insurance won't pay cause first off even if I had collision they don't pay for the first certain ammount its usually around $500 and that is alot less than $500 worth of damage.

I think that kind of damage falls under a different category than collision, but I can't remember what it's called. People usually keep their deductible for that pretty high though, so if your collision is $500, it would most likely be up there too.

Naa I don't have collision. I think you are thinking of Comprehensive which I do have but that is just for theft, fire, and maybe damage I forget. Hmm I know it covers if my car gets stolen or anything in the car gets stolen I'll call my insurance agent up and ask.

you'd be surprised at how much it can cost to fix that. they will most likely have to repaint the whole panel. and if it gouged it, they'll have to fill that.

Yeah, I'd be pissed too. I never park near anyone, but yet some jack@ss always parks right next to me. I will never understand why people do this. I always try to leave 5 or more spots between me and the nearest car.

Is that just bumper damage? I can't tell.
If that's just the bumper you don't have to worry about it rusting. Maybe you can get it fixed easily with some touch up paint. See a local body shop. Or maybe they can put a coat of paint on the whole bumper.

If you value your car, umm get a low deductible :) $500 is for beaters or if you have a race car and are too young to afford real insurance.

I had a rock crack my windshield recently . $1400 replacement, fortunately it could be repaired for $60 which falls under a special section of your comp which is paid for free (remember this!) As soon as my 8 tickets fall off record in 2 weeks, i'm dropping my deductible WAY down. like $200 or $250, or lower depending on the new policy.

Looks like a $200-300 dent-repair job,btw.

What you're thinking of is Uninsured Motorist coverage, and depending on your state, the deductible may be surprisingly low (it has nothing to do with other coverages you may or may not carry). Let me know what state you live in and I'll give you a hand.

I was sittin in my mom's car waiting for her, and some guy was pissed off at his wife so he pushed the cart forward really hard and let go of it. It smashed our front right blinker to bits. I jumped out of the car real fast, so the bastard jumped in his car as quick as he could and peeled out and took off...I couldnt read the plate # cuz it was a temporary stuck in the back window.

Pisses me off, a grown man throwing a temper tantrum(sp?) then woosies out to a 14 year old.

hope that repair is cheap, nutcase...

IIIBradIII: I'm in MA

Yes its just bumper damage I will see what the local body shop says maybe I can do it myself with the help of a few friends. I'll see how much it costs, if it costs too much then I can't get it fixed cause I am out of $$. Anyway I can't afford comprehensive cause it would be too expensive because I am only 17 and insurance is really high till you are about 21.

Ornery: Naa, you can't hear my system outside of my car. I hate people who play it so loud you can hear it a mile away! And I don't want to go deaf. :)

I keep my system to a comfortable level for me and the people around me. Unless I open up my door you really can't hear the system. One of my friends was complaining about that I said that's what I love about my system so much it doesn't disturb other people.

Check your policy. In the states I handle, UM is a given , even required in MD. To utilize it, you usually have to file a police report but that's a small inconvenience to save some cash.

I did the buggy thing there for awhile too. One day when it was ranning me and this girl went out to get carts real quik. Since it was raining we were both running up the hill pushing our train of carts. The girl was in front of me and had her head down and when she got about 10 feet or so from the cart door some lady pulled her car right infront of her and stopped in the fire lane :). The girl didn't see the car in time and even if she had she wouldn't have been able to stop anyway so she plowed right into the car's fender. The lady in the car didn't even get out or anything she just put here car in drive and took off.

I have 2 dents on my car. That is the last time I am parking at the YMCA.
There is one above the my front wheel, and one behind the front door.
i have them body painted, but the dent would cost 2000 to fix.
