So, I finally get off my lazy azz and get set to flash my Lite-on 40x CDRW to 48x. Confirm the model # is compatible, get the proper prog and bin file, and start reading the how-tos. Well, it didn't work out. Drive now not recognized in XP.
I've got an older Win95 machine that I can boot in to DOS ok that I was gonna fix this on.
Thing is, I'm trying to wade thru all the posts/"info"/etc on various firmware sites and it's all very overwhelming.
I have downloaded:
mtkflash
LTR-48125W firmware
I have gathered that I need to have the drive alone on an IDE channel and set to master. Assuming I have the BIN file just on my floppy disk (we'll say A:\), and the drive is on the secondary channel set to master, what would the command line be for mtkflash?
TIA
